Rebecca's' biography:

Rebecca is a qualified maths teacher with 15 years' experience working with students in small groups, in 1:1 settings as well as large classrooms. She loves teaching and is passionate about working with individuals to understand their strengths and help students be successful. She has extensive experience of teaching up to GCSE level and loves working with students, parents and schools to plan tailored, engaging and fun sessions.

Rebecca is friendly, enthusiastic, patient and fully focused on achieving the best results for all her students, helping build confidence and enjoy learning. Her students say she is always willing to find new ways to explain complex concepts, make learning interesting and in every lesson they learn something new that they didn't understand before. She takes time to get to know everyone's needs and targets in order to design specific lessons for them.

Rebecca studied Psychology at the University of Nottingham gaining a 2.1. She studied for her Certificate in English Language Teaching Abroad before moving to Japan to teach English for 18 months as a private tutor. Her students ranged from 3-70 year old and she taught everything from nursery rhymes, small group conversational classes, to supporting with UCAS applications. This experience cemented her love of teaching and life long learning. On returning to the UK she trained to become a secondary maths teacher on the Teach First programme. Rebecca spent 8 years teaching in secondary schools in London helping students to achieve the highest grades possible. She taught all ages and abilities and has experience with everything from building basic numeracy and foundation skills, working with students with a variety of special educational needs as well as working with exam specifications to get students to reach their targets and delivering revision sessions. In particular, Rebecca enjoyed working 1:1 with students and saw the power that personalised learning had on confidence levels and progress when studying maths. This role as a full-time, professional tutor is therefore the perfect fit for her.

When not tutoring, you will find Rebecca with her family, listening to music or exploring new places.
