Other School Entrance
Victoria has six years’ experience at tutoring pupils in French, Spanish and English, and has most recently tutored children in preparation for success at the 11+ and at GCSE level. She graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2011 and qualified as a teacher through the prestigious Teach First programme. After teaching in Wolverhampton for two years she then moved to London, where she began teaching English alongside modern foreign languages. Realising that she loved teaching literature as well as language, she moved towards a more English-heavy timetable and was Head of Department at her school (English). During the summer exam season she is also an A Level Spanish marker.
She has an energetic and enthusiastic approach in the classroom and prides herself on being able to get the very best out of her pupils through hard work, humour and tailoring work to their specific needs. She has received a string of outstanding observation reports for her teaching and continuously researches innovative practice.
Victoria left teaching full-time in July 2017 to start a masters in Education and International Development at UCL. She achieved a distinction in her course and is currently doing a PhD in educational disadvantage with the Institute of Education at Manchester University. She is based in London as an embedded researcher at a school in West London as part of the PhD.
