A committed student at school, gaining all As and A*s at GCSE and straight As at A-Level, Victoria then headed to Durham University to study English. A passion for the subject led her to pursue a career as a teacher, where she spent two years working in the UK and gaining a PGCE whilst employed as a teacher. Victoria then decided that a change of scenery was in order, and moved to an international school in Italy. The intended two years here quickly turned into four, enjoying the experience of teaching the I.B Diploma at both HL and SL.
Victoria has experience in teaching both the English Literature and English Language and Literature course, giving her a broad knowledge of the options available to students and the different skills required. She also became a moderator and monitor of assessment for the M.Y.P, an Extended Essay Supervisor and Head of Year. As a Head of Year, she was particularly interested in tracking academic progress and in helping to ensure that the needs of individual students were met. She also co-coordinated the Personal Project, organised the form period programme and ran the Community and Service project.
Since returning to the UK just over a year ago, she has been working in another international school as an English teacher, with responsibility for addressing the needs of Gifted and Talented students. When she is not teaching, she loves to take advantage of all that London has to offer, especially the theatre, restaurants and museums. She also enjoys running, music and travelling.
Victoria is available for online tuition to students anywhere in the world. Find out more about online tuition.
Victoria, like all of our tutors, is a qualified teacher and has been interviewed by us personally. All of our tutors have at least two years of classroom teaching experience and come with fantastic references and criminal records checks.
