Emma teaches at the selective Notting Hill and Ealing High School (GDST), teaching Year 7 to Year 13, including Cambridge IGCSE English Literature and English Language, as well as both English Literature and English Language A Levels (OCR and AQA boards respectively). She prepares students for English degrees and Oxbridge entrance through enrichment sessions and mock interviews, and advises her Sixth Form tutor group on university entrance.
Emma is a first-class graduate of Cambridge University, having studied Part 1 Philosophy and Part II English Literature. Before this, attending City of London School for Girls, Emma achieved straight A* in her GCSEs and A Levels (English Literature, Art, Mathematics, and Physics), as well as gaining scores in the 99th percentile in her SAT American College entrance tests. Gaining a PGCE with Distinction at University of Bristol through the competitive Teach First program, Emma taught English for several years previously at a leading academy in South Bristol.
Emma is a tutor who insists on high standards from her students. She focuses on detailed feedback on students’ work, and setting tasks to improve the work, leading students to achieve more. Being friendly and efficient, Emma ensures that students get the most out of their time with her, and leave feeling more confident because they know what they do well, and what they need to improve. She has experience tutoring students across the age and ability spectrums from 11 plus to university entrance.
