Holly graduated with First Class Honours in Pharmacology from Bristol University in 2012 where she developed deep understanding of anatomy, physiology, neuroscience and pharmacology. She was accepted onto the Teach First Leadership development programme and pursued her passion for science and education. Over the past three years as a classroom teacher she has inspired and instilled great enthusiasm and academic excellence in her students. She enjoys the challenge of teaching difficult concepts and ensuring students are not only confident but secure in their science knowledge. Last year she played a pivotal role in securing an outstanding set of GCSE results for her schools science department.
Holly is currently working in a large mixed comprehensive school. Her drive and passion for education are reflected in her appoint as Head of Year 9 Sciences last year in which she took on responsibility for a challenging year group and development of schemes of work after just two years of teaching.
Holly has also been a tutor in sciences for the last two years and specialises in GCSE/iGCSE science and Biology A level/IB tuition. She focuses on personalising tuition to her tutees, by using a range of techniques that improve their confidence and exam techniques. By using a holistic approach to tuition she ensures that her tutees make outstanding progress and achieve beyond their expectations.
Holly is a keen traveller and has spent the last two summers teaching and providing teacher training in a Norwegian summer school. She also enjoys practicing yoga and playing netball in her spare time.
