Catherine graduated from Durham University with a BA in Geography in 2013; achieving a 1st class honours degree. She then joined the Teach First programme, where she taught mathematics in a secondary school in west London. During this time she enjoyed working with a wide range of abilities and was given responsibility for various GCSE classes, giving her experience in preparing students for their GCSE Mathematics and GCSE Statistics.
She now works for an education technology company that provides maths tutoring for primary school children, and enjoys working with tutors, teachers and pupils on a daily basis. This has also given her a great insight into what makes an engaging and accessible tutoring session, and really enjoys seeing the children making progress in topics they were previously struggling with.
Catherine feels that is extremely important to build a positive relationship with students she is teaching whilst always encouraging them to achieve their best, and she is passionate about children believing in themselves and having high aspirations. In her spare time, Catherine enjoys singing in a gospel choir, skiing and travelling, and is looking forward to a trip to Costa Rica this summer.
Catherine is available for online tuition to students anywhere in the world. Find out more about online tuition.
Catherine, like all of our tutors, is a qualified teacher and has been interviewed by us personally. All of our tutors have at least two years of classroom teaching experience and come with fantastic references and criminal records checks.
