Pamela is an experienced teacher and has taught in leading independent and state schools such as Kendrick School and Reading School. She has tutored privately for twenty years and has successfully prepared students for the English components of the Common Entrance at 11+ and 13+ and has a strong track record in helping students achieve their goals for GCSE and A-Level English Literature and Language exams.
Having high expectations for all her students, Pamela works closely with them to support their schoolwork as well as extend their knowledge beyond the classroom helping to develop breadth and depth across all areas of study (reading, writing, speaking and listening). She also has a great deal of experience with students in both primary and secondary school who are dyslexic and who speak English as a Second Language.
Pamela believes she brings a unique view to the lessons having received her first BSc Hons Degree in Education from St. John’s University in New York. She is passionate about literature, writing and art continuing her own education while raising her two children and has achieved an additional BA Hons Degree in Professional Photographic Imaging from TVU, Reading as well as completing Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Creative Writing with the Open University. Pamela is currently studying for a MA Degree in Creative Writing at Brunel.
When she is not tutoring or studying, Pamela enjoys spending time with her family, reading, baking, tennis as well as seeing films, plays and art exhibitions.
