Hafsa completed her PGCE at the IOE in London, completing her teaching practice at two state-schools in Camden and Harrow. She then took up a full-time teaching and Head of House post at Harris Westminster Sixth Form, a new school set up in 2014 as a joint initiative between Westminster School and the Harris Federation to make a Westminster-style education available to London's brightest and most able students. Having set up the MFL department at the school, the Languages cohort achieved 80% and 76% grade A or above in Pre-U French and Spanish respectively in the first round of examinations. A significant proportion of this cohort went on to read various disciplines, including Languages, at Oxbridge and Russell Group universities.
Hafsa has also taught and tutored privately in the UK and abroad. She has taught English at summer schools for foreign students, and spent her year abroad teaching English to children and adults in Guatemala and France. After graduating, she lived in France where she tutored privately for a number of families in the Paris-area.
When teaching, Hafsa is very thorough, for the sake of learning itself as well as to succeed in examinations, and has very high expectations of her students. She hopes to nurture in them a lifelong love for learning and speaking languages.
Upon completing her A-levels at a state sixth-form in North West London, Hafsa read Modern and Medieval Languages at Merton College, Oxford, with a focus on Translation, Medieval and Renaissance Literature, and Historical Linguistics.
She enjoys reading literature from all over the world, watching foreign films, traveling, and playing badminton.
Hafsa is available for online tuition to students anywhere in the world. Find out more about online tuition.
Hafsa, like all of our tutors, is a qualified teacher and has been interviewed by us personally. All of our tutors have at least two years of classroom teaching experience and come with fantastic references and criminal records checks.
