After gaining invaluable experience of real-life Economics working in the banking industry at Goldman Sachs, Niraj decided he wanted to do something different. Having achieved a first-class honours degree in Economics and International Development at the University of Bath, his travelling during a gap year opened his eyes to the disheartening state of education in developing countries – seeing children with a passion to learn but lacking the opportunities reaffirmed a desire to work in the education sector to try and help all children achieve their potential and life opportunities.
Although semi-retired, Tony is keen to do more than just the housework and is enthusiastically furthering his already significant teaching skills in tutoring students toward examination success. He has a proven track record of successful practice in both Economics (IB and AL) and Mathematics (IGCSE – MYP -School entrance) in a range of international and British schools across the world.
A dynamic, experienced and friendly teacher of economics with 19 years experience of teaching the subject at AS/A2, IB Higher and Standard Levels and GCSE/IGCSE levels . Before becoming a teacher Peter worked for the American International Bank Citibank and spent some time running his own business.
Olly attended a grammar school in south west London where he completed his A levels before attending Durham University to study Economics. An interest in teaching and inspiring children drew him to the Teach First programme, where he taught maths at a challenging school in Doncaster for two years.
Jenny is a highly experienced and qualified Economics and Business Management teacher, tutor, revision course leader and IB DP Economics examiner. She was awarded ”Outstanding Teacher" by the British Office for Standards in Education, Children‘s Services and Skills (OFSTED) and has reached outstanding A-Level and IB results.
My approach is one of flexibility where I will adapt my methods to the needs of learners. Ultimately, the role of a tutor has to be to ensure learners develop problem-solving skills by understanding the approach needed and not simply answer questions with steams of knowledge and textbook facts.
